about me

For many years, this mama enjoyed running a successful yoga and wellness studio while living a simple west coast life. My deep love of nature was experienced through my passion for surfing and the opportunities to utilize my background in Permaculture working with the land around me. Some major life changes found me moving to the city with my son and the intention of pursuing a degree in counselling. At that time I had just sold my business, left my community, ended a long term partnership and was questioning a lot about life.

The weekend before I had my initial residency at the University, I sat with Ayahuasca for the first time; it was like coming home to myself and spirit. Working with this medicine has been the greatest teacher and an integral ally in healing core traumas that I didn’t know were impacting my way of being in the world. My own healing experiences led me to more fully embracing my path in the healing arts, with the belief that we need a multitude of tools in which to work with. My Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies greatly expanded my knowledge and builds upon the holistic healing practices I have been learning and developing throughout my life. I was able to create a degree that is holistic itself, drawing from courses such as Eco-Psychology, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, a Directed Study of Connection and Addiction, Indigenous Ways of Knowing and others, including theory and methodologies specific to my scope of study.

The final year-long research project for my MA included a journey to a spiritual centre in Peru, which deepened my studies of the implications of entheogenic integration, grounded in Transpersonal and Eco-psychologies. The research furthered my belief that our symbiotic connection to what I call ‘Source’ is fundamentally essential for wellbeing, and this belief is deeply rooted in my work. Embracing my life’s purpose with holistic healing has allowed me to do what I love most: hold space and assist others on their own healing journey, utilizing multiple modalities that foster wholeness within our interconnected system.

I am deeply dedicated to my own personal growth and continuous learning, which in turn supports me to better assist others on their healing journey. In 2021 I immersed myself in a one year Compassionate Inquiry program with Gabor Mate, which greatly influences my work. In 2023 I completed Levels 1 and 2 in Craniolsacral Training with the intention of continuing on to Levels 3 and 4. I am almost always taking a course in something related to the healing arts; I love learning! I am also curious about the idea of doing a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies… but one thing at a time; right here and now is pretty great.
